Everybody today talking about their rights…. but what does the Scripture say ?
1 Corinthians 6:7 ” ….. Why do ye not rather take wrong ? Why do ye not rather allow yourselves to be defrauded ?”
Matthew 5:44 “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them who despitefully use you, and persecute you”
As children of God, we look to Him to protect us from others and unseen enemies….. but if He should allow us to experience “trampling of our rights” occasionally…. it is for our own spiritual good to take heed of the above verses.
The world will despise us for not “standing up for our rights”….. but in the end, we shall see that it was the best choice…. in the end we shall see that we did not need to stand up for our rights…. because the one who is our defender and advocate is none other than the Lord of Glory.
…. those that trample on the rights of others are only hurting THEMSELVES (no matter how much it may appear to the “world” that they are doing well…. the time will eventually come to “reap what they have sown”)
…. and yet we need not concern ourselves with their end…. our duty is to follow Jesus Christ.
The example He set is plain enough…. His rights were taken away….. and yet, He is the King of Glory… who is Eternally Blessed.
The joy of the Lord will more than compensate for any “lost rights” we may have had to endure.
