“if a man die, shall he live again ?” (Job 14:14)
“and though after my skin worms destroy this body, YET IN MY FLESH shall I see GOD” (Job 19:26)
“it is appointed unto man ONCE to die, but after this the JUDGEMENT” (Hebrews 9:27)
(the idea of RE-INCARNATION taught by pagan religion is NONSENSE… it is just another demonic lie… which unfortunately, has become quite popular in the West even among some “Christians”)
Jesus spoke non-stop about immortality, “now that the dead are raised, even Moses showed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living” (Luke 20:37-38)

Finally what about the sinners and the heathen…. do they have immortality also ? …. but why should the essence of their soul and of their spirit be any different from that of any other human ?
Two fates… two destinies…. two places….. for the immortals….
Many sinners content themselves with the concept of annihilation because they reason…. nothing after life… enjoy it and then cease to exist ? … but why should they get off so easily ?…. if the sufferings of the righteous demand a reward in the afterlife, so too does the punishment of the wicked…. the fact that many wicked go to their graves completely escaping the judgement of men in this life (for the crimes they have comitted against humanity) should convince you that punishment is coming after death…. but is it ETERNAL punishment ?… that is the question…
Many reason against ETERNAL punishment on the basis that it is “unfair”….. others think, that it might not be so bad after all, they can live in hell as they do on earth…. they will have the company of their friends… and can form alliances for their own survival in the hostile environment…. much the same as happens in the prisons of men.
See my other posts on the topic of HELL
They mock the simple idea of the FIRE by saying nothing can go on burning forever and not BURN UP….. they dismiss the graphic descriptions of hell that Jesus revealed by saying that He was talking to “uneducated” people.
STOP for a moment…. put yourself in the position of Jesus…. and ask yourself “how do I describe hell to someone who has never been there”….. I want to say to you that His choice of words was not only appropriate but meaningful.
We can grasp a concept of the incredible PAIN of fire on our bodies because of our experience with it….. and it is within the capacity of our imagination to conceive of what this would be like should our bodies NOT be destroyed but continue in PAIN indefinitely… whether it is “literal” fire or not is NOT the issue, the point is that it is a place of aweful torment… the worst torment that any human can imagine.
But will it be ETERNAL ? …. people have a problem with that also…. surely, they reason, eventually the “punishment” is sufficient and the soul must be released ?.
This line of reasoning overlooks two facts:
1. SALVATION is a FREE GIFT to ALL…. which they have willfully rejected.
2. There is a big difference between MAN’s idea of SIN and GOD’s view of it….. because the world is now “under sin” humans simply cannot conceive of how aweful it is to God… we pat ourselves on the back and tell ourselves we are not so bad, we are GOOD people…. as humans we simply cannot comprehend the LOVE of God along with His HOLINESS….. when we humans love, we go soft on our children and on criminals…. and when we do NOT love, we easily condemn, destoy and punish…. we are, for the most part, INCAPABLE of LOVING and DESTROYING at the same time…. GOD does not have that problem, that is a HUMAN problem…. and STRANGE as it may seem to humans… GOD can LOVE but still sentence to hell… because HIS JUSTICE is just as strong as His love…. the HUMAN experiences of Jesus Christ on earth actually SHOWS both the LOVE and the JUSTICE…. in that GOD SUFFERED to REDEEM us from the consequences of our own SIN.
Now how can a human presume that GOD will not send them to eternal punishment…. when God Himself has done EVERYTHING that GOD could do… to stop that from happening ?
We need to stop “treating God as if HE was just another human” and realize that it is OUR RESPONSIBILITY to make sure we do not end up in an “eternal hell” (whatever you conceive that to be)…. by RESPONDING to the GIFT that HE has made FREELY available to us all…. can anything in this life be more important ?
