Psalm 145 is one of my favorite psalms
Verse 2 “Every day will I bless thee, and I will praise thy name forever and ever”
Verse 3 “Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable”
Verse 5 “I will speak of the glorious honor of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works”
As we get more and more focused on God …. throughout every day…. we talk about Him naturally…. like how other people talk about their consuming interest, whether it’s Baseball, Golf or Stamp Collecting or whatever.
People will say….. “You carrying this God thing too far now”…… “You becoming a fanatic”….. why dont they say that to Cricket fans ?…. Baseball fans ?….. I will tell you why, they dont want to hear about God all the time…. even though they are quite comfortable hearing about any other worldly activity.
Acts 26:24-28 tells us what happens when we talk about the LORD to the people of the world….. Festus cried out with a LOUD VOICE and said that Paul was mad (he could not stand to hear the TRUTH any longer)…. King Agrippa responded to a direct question EVASIVELY and instead of answering question directly, he says, “almost thou persuadest me…” but he really has no intention of being persuaded….. WHY ? …. the stakes are too high…. the sacrifice too great… and this is the position of many, the cost of being a Christian, how their life would have to change….. what they would have to give up… is just too much… and they are not willing to proceed down that road of thought… it must be shut up…. blocked out… they just cannot think about that !
And yet…. not everybody that is praising the LORD all day long is manifesting true HOLINESS…. the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked (Jeremiah 16:9)….. and there may be persons living double life and not coming under conviction and actually justifying their sin before God (completely blinded to the reality of it)…. this is because our mental conception of “God” is so warped by our sinful life on earth… beware of your own ideas about God….. the TRUE GOD is revealed in the BIBLE, His character and Holiness……. any church or individual who spends more time reading some OTHER book(s) instead of or in addition to the BIBLE is heading for deception.
Nevertheless, verse 19-20 tells us, “He will fulfill the desire of those who fear him; he also will hear their cry, and will save them. the LORD preserveth all those who LOVE HIM…”
Our security rests with GOD….. if we truly LOVE HIM and WANT TO BE RIGHTEOUS AND HOLY…. He will not allow the world, the flesh or the devil to permanently defeat us…. whatever our state today…. let us speak the last verse from a sincere heart
“My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD; and let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever”
