Confidence – Part 6

Getting what you want out of life…… Getting what you want through visualization and mind control, spells, rituals and the “occult” knowledge of the “spirit realm”.

The subtle lie of Satan, devil, demons that says…. “You can have whatever you wish….. when you have both confidence and self-discipline and attain power through knowledge”.

A DIRECT CONTRADICTION to the life of Jesus Christ…. who both taught (and practised Himself) TOTAL SUBMISSION to the will of God and He was rewarded with the Highest Authority in the Universe….. thereby proving to the whole host of heaven that the way to TRUE authority and power is through humility and service…. NOT pride and self-exaltation.

Jesus HAD all power and authority but many times refused to use it for His own benefit … read Matthew 26:53, John 10:18 and John 19:11

Beware of the Roman Catholic Church (where pagan “occult ritual” is practised in the name of God and demonic manifestation occurs due to their heathen idolatry and statues, beads and symbolism).

Beware of successful televangelists and charismatic pentecostals who “declare” prosperity and “claim” worldly success by “invoking” the Power of God through the use of Scripture in “repetition” and “visualization” (the use of the mind and imagination under the guise of “faith” in bringing the thoughts and desires of THEIR hearts into “reality”)

The example of Jesus Christ and indeed the entire New Testament church stand in direct contrast to their “popular preaching”…… and so, they resort to various Old Testament passages made under the Jewish Covenant and during the dispensation (age) of Law….. and then combine the texts with occultic methods to GET WHAT THEY WANT from  “god”.

They need to heed the warnings in the book of JUDE…..  and they need to be exposed by those who know the TRUTH.

Read Matthew 7:14 … these are the words of Christ….. the reality is SALVATION is NOT a “mass-market” commodity……. we are commanded to preach the GOSPEL to “every living creature”…… but the TRUE gospel is what we are commanded to preach….. FORSAKING the world and seeking after RIGHTEOUSNESS…. and it is NEVER going to be “popular” and FEW there will be that “embrace” it.

Confidence – Part 5

Discipline leads to success in anything and everything

Job 5:17 “happy is the man whom God corrects. Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty”

Revelation 3:19 “as many as I love I rebuke and chasten”

Hebrews 12:10 “For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our PROFIT, that we may be partakers of His holiness”

Proverbs 25:28 “whoever has no rule over his own spirit is like a city broken down,  without walls.”

People are physically and mentally LAZY…. They are looking for results without effort… therefore the world is filled with people making money from the idea  that you can achieve  without effort.

For example, eat your way to a slim figure or learn to play the piano without practice… ANYTHING that’s hard to do WILL take time and EFFORT, but there is always somebody (a con artist ?) selling you a “quick” alternative because people are suckers for this sort of thing, they WANT it to be true and they confuse their wishes with reality.

It takes MOTIVATION and DISCIPLINE to ACHIEVE anything worthwhile and do not let anybody tell you otherwise. Make up your mind early that you will make SACRIFICES to achieve your goals.

When your goal is the do God’s will and work… whatever sacrifices you make  have eternal rewards… this is why Jesus sacrificed His life for us and now reigns forevermore blessed.

You can be confident of success when you have disciplined yourself appropriately.

Confidence – Part 4

CYCLES of faith and failure… everything is going great and then one failure turns you to mush, this is far more common than the reverse (everything going rotten and then one success).

People get “accustomed” to failing or success and then they expect the outcome, therefore people either live in a negative or positive frame of mind.

We all know them…. hear them all the time…. the NEGATIVE people, “I cant get this to work” “watch an see this is not going to work out ” “everything I do  always comes out wrong” “with my luck, I’ll have to  _____ AGAIN !” “nothing I ever do comes out right”

and the POSITIVE people, “no problem” “piece of cake”  “today is going to be a fine day” (even though it is presently raining cats and dogs)  “that’s easy, I can do that” (even though they have not a clue and have never done it before).

People just do not realize the power in their own words… Jesus said, “… believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says” (Mark 11:23)

And it’s not only Christians who have power in their words, it’s EVERYBODY…..  God made us this way…. we are fashioned to be like Him and (even though sin has caused us to lose our birthright) God created the heavens and the earth with just words… nothing more…. therefore our WORDS have POWER also… and we should be CAREFUL what we say. (“death and life are in the power of the tongue…” Proverbs 18:21)

The KEY VERSES for Christians who feel helpless and powerless after defeat and failure are:

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13)

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You…” (Isaiah 26:3)

“…bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5) ….. because negative words follow from negative thoughts….. as Christians you have the POWER  to DECIDE what you will think about, but you must exercise DISCIPLINE  to monitor and control your thoughts.

David knew full well the power of GOD,  allowing him to do “impossible” things. “For by You I can run against a troop, by my God I can leap over a wall” (Psalms 18:29) “Blessed be the LORD my Rock, Who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle” (Psalms 144:1)

Confidence – Part 3

FEAR of FAILURE…. the enemy of all confidence…

Why do we FEAR FAILURE ?  because of PRIDE… the real reason we fear failure is because of what OTHERS will think and/or say about us

But God consistently tells us to “fear NOT”… for example, Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

We fear all the WRONG things… Jesus tells us who we should fear…  Luke 12:5 “I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell: yes, I say to you, fear Him !”

But is it not a contradiction ? God tells us NOT to fear and  Jesus tells us to fear God.

There are TWO kinds of fear “terror and dread” and  “reverence and RESPECT”

Consider a chained dog versus one that is NOT chained…..  even if you “fear” all dogs…. you RESPECT the chained one and walk around a good distance away but you are not terrified because (you believe) he can not get at you…. However if  the unchained dog comes after you that is terror (fear).

Even though we love GOD… we should realize how great and powerful He is… and in spite of our love for Him, we also know that He will not permit our wickedness to go UNPUNISHED…. therefore we should RESPECT Him for who He IS and not allow “familiarity to breed contempt”

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom” (Proverbs 9:10, Psalm 111:10)

The reality is that everybody fears something and psychologists have all sorts of ways for people to both identify and confront their fears.

People are  frightened by things that do not even exist…. others  are frightened by harmless  insects…. In many cases there is no BASIS for  fear whatsoever…. a very successful person may have a terrible fear of failure…. what is the reason for such fear ?…. there may be none…. fear does not need a reason.
