Trinity

The word “Trinity” is not in the Bible, but the concept is…. Read Matthew 3:16 -17, Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14, Ephesians 2:18 and 1 Peter 1:2

Each of these divine Persons has specific characteristics and yet they are equal in power and glory and

1.  each is called “God”…. John 6:27, Hebrews 1:8 and Acts 5:3 – 4

2. each possessing all the divine attributes…. James 1:17, Hebrews 13:8 and Hebrews 9:14

3. each performing divine works… John 5:21, Romans 8:11

4. each receiving divine honors… John 5:23, 2 Corinthians 13:14

Consider how they work together…… of the Father (1 Corinthians 8:6), through the Son (John 3:17), by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 3:5) and unto the Father (Ephesians 2:18)

But He is ONLY ONE GOD  ….. not three gods…  read Mark 12:29 – 30, Romans 3:30

Many people have a hard time trying to “understand” this…. my advice is simple… do NOT expect to completely understand it…. how can you as a human understand God ?…. He has explained Himself to you using simple RELATIONSHIPS and human words that you CAN understand… father, son and spirit

NO human mind can “understand”  everything…. the Bible contains what you need to know (and even extra material to help the “thinkers” and “scientists”)….. but a god that we (humans) could completely “figure out” would not be much of a god because that would make us equal with him.

GOD has explained Himself to our “human mind” in the best way that is possible…. and we are expected to ACCEPT that…. and live as He wishes us to live.

There will ALWAYS be stuff that you do not understand…. BLESSED is the man (or woman) who FOLLOWS THE  BIBLE INSTRUCTION anyway and does not get offended (or “turn away”) simply because of “something they do not understand” (Matthew 11:6, Luke 7:23).

Even the “brightest” minds of “scientists, philosophers and academics” will admit (if they are honest) that they do not understand everything about our material universe…. yet many of them refuse to BELIEVE that “something greater than themselves” must have created it all…… rather they prefer to teach “lesser mortals” that it all just “happened by chance” and, apparently, they cannot see that is just as much their BELIEF….

Any way you look at it…. everybody is BELIEVING something…. so which story do you want to believe ?  …. take your pick…

Here are valid arguments for believing the Bible (even though you do not “understand” it):

1. HISTORY – inspite of all the supposed “errors” and “inaccuracies”, continued research in archeology supports the Biblical record. … and although not a “scientific” book, nothing in it has been conclusively disproved by true scientific research.

2. UNIVERSAL IMPACT – the entire world has been  “affected” by the Bible, it is the most printed book…. the Christian religion eclipses all other religions of the world… the global calendar is reckoned (supposedly) from the birth of Christ…. all other major religions use, excuse, re-write, re-interpret, explain or contradict the Bible, but NONE of them just IGNORE it altogether.

3. Supernatural POWER – even the Holywood movie-makers portray the Bible as having power over evil manifestation…. the problem of GOOD and EVIL in men and spirits NEEDS explanation…. witches, occultists, new agers , atheists and agnostics…. whether out of hate or out of love they all use, abuse or re-interpret the Bible…. why dont they just simply IGNORE it altogether ?…. the problem is people have tried that before too…. but it just will not be ignored…. whether they burn it, bury it or put it out of their minds… it just will not go away…. it keeps coming back …  it just cannot be made to DISAPPEAR !

PROPHECY – Events foretold before they occurred and amazing predictions for the future has got everybody on edge… anything that happens in the world (like impending disaster) sends people scurrying for a Bible, looking for some answers or hope…. can you imagine the number of HOURS that humans have spent arguing, discussing, proclaiming or denying the Bible…. why dont they simply IGNORE it and get on with their daily lives…. friend, it’s obviously not that simple… because it’s not going to go away…

My readers, the Bible is a powerful book… it has been written by men…. but the words, the concepts, the ideas and the revelations are not from men but from GOD…. and the Bible has supernatural power that goes beyond time and out into eternity…. send this post to somebody who needs convincing and if you are already a believer then do not stumble over “phrases and words of individual verses”…. the main theme and the most important concepts are REPEATED over and over again throughout the Book…. grasp this vision in child-like FAITH (Matthew 18:3)…. dont worry too much about  the “parts you do not understand” for the time being…. once you receive the Holy Spirit, He will guide you through the book showing you what you need for every stage of your life (John 16:13 – 15)…. and the rest does not matter until it’s time.

Prayer for Today:

Loving Heavenly Father, I do not have to understand everything…. I come to you in a child-like manner willing to be led and taught by your Holy Spirit…. reveal to me what you have for me today in your Book so that I may grow up (spiritually) the way You want me to be… in Jesus name, I pray… Amen.

laws

Is GOD a “victim” of His own Laws ???…. as some would have us to believe…

I have observed that many well-meaning writers, in an attempt to explain topics like “prayer” or “living a spiritual life” in their attempt to assist their readers in achieving their goal, provide a list of “do’s” and “dont’s” (backed by scripture verses)… and sometimes, to stress OUR responsibility, they may say things like, “GOD can do NOTHING unless we do “a” or “b””……. personally I believe that GOD can do ANYTHING He pleases and that He is NOT a “victim” of His own laws…. but this does NOT ABSOLVE us from “personal responsibility” EITHER…. sound confusing ?… but it makes perfect sense.

To say that GOD cannot do something LIMITS GOD and raises our own importance… and ooohh my ….. how we love to feel IMPORTANT, dont we ?….. but in reality, we are NOTHING…. ANYTHING we do for GOD is from Him and by Him…. “For it is God who worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure” (Phillipians 2:13)… we cannot claim the glory…. the Bible says, “No flesh should glory in His presence” (1 Corinthians 1:29)…. HUMILITY is seen again and again…. ever so important.

When He was on earth… He broke quite a few physical laws…. (John 6:19, John 6:21)…. and He said things like…. “the Son of Man is Lord of the sabbath” (Luke 6:5) and “I am the resurrection and the life” (John 11:25)…… but He also said, “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets; I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill” (Matthew 5:17 – 18)

In the Bible there are many (apparently) contradictory verses BECAUSE ….. BALANCE MUST be established…. you should not grab a verse and then go to “extreme” with it..

Lets look at some APPARENT contradictions , although I will make no attempt to explain them today.

Does God repent (change His mind) or not ?

Genesis 6:6 and Jonah 3:10 suggest that God repents…. while 1 Samuel 15:29 and Malachi 3:6 suggests that He does not repent

Jeremiah 3:12 says God will not be angry forever…. and a little later, Jeremiah 17:4 suggest that He will be angry forever.

2 Kings 2:11 tells us that Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven…. and John 3:13 tells us that no man hath ascended up to heaven.

Galatians 6:2 tells us to bear one anothers burdens… and Galatians 6:5 tells us that every man shall bear his own burden.

Proverbs 26:4 tells us NOT to answer a fool according to his folly…. and the very next verse tells us to answer a fool according to his folly… so which is it supposed to be ???? (Actually BOTH are correct DEPENDING on the CIRCUMSTANCES… an example of a BALANCE once again)

Are our good deeds supposed to be seen by men or not ? …. Matthew 5:16 tells us to let our good deeds be seen so that God may be glorified…. and Matthew 6:3 – 4 tells us to do them secretly so that we may avoid the “praise of men”…. again BOTH are correct DEPENDING on the CIRCUMSTANCES.

Are we supposed to JUDGE ???? ….. 1 Corinthians 2:15 tells us that a spiritual man judges everything (and cannot be judged by any man)… while 1 Corinthians 4:5 tells us to judge NOTHING until the Lord comes…. obviously the TRUTH must be in BOTH of these verses DEPENDING ON THE CIRCUMSTANCES.

You see what the “problem” is ? ….. the BIBLE contains the WHOLE TRUTH for EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE and situation…. past, present and future… while men are looking for “easy instructions” that they can follow BLINDLY…. INSTEAD of establishing communication with GOD (fellowship) and seeking His wishes in every circumstance…. they actually PREFER simple “rules and regulations” to make life EASY…. a simple 1, 2, 3 recipe that they can simply read out of a book.

So on the one hand…. we have “dead and formal” churches where nobody can pray at all (except by reading lines out of a book)…… and on the other hand, we have “spirit led churches”, where everything is done by “feeling” and “sensing” and the Book (Bible) only exists to “prove” their “revelations”… some of these “spirit led” churches end up being “guided” by other “seducing spirits” instead of the Holy Spirit.

So what is the BALANCE ? … how do we reconcile all this…. surely the TRUE path must be between these two extremes…. meaning BOTH “book learning” AND “Holy Spirit guidance”… unfortunately, humans are given to extremes (and the extremes are so “easy and simple” for them)…. the TRUE CALL is for MORE DEDICATION to GOD to enter into “true communion” with him and follow the narrow path that leads to life eternal…… so for most people, the easy way out is the one they take… following one extreme or the other according to their own personality or temperment.

Any church that really gets serious about TRUE HOLINESS and DEDICATION among it’s members…. will not be “popular”…. because the majority want the “false comfort” of religion…. without the true sacrifice of serving God….. they want to “feel good” without actually “being good”

Prayer for today:

Loving Heavenly Father, we want to know you personally in our lives every day…. not merely follow instructions out of a book…. please guide us daily… forgive us when we stray away and bring us back (inspite of ourselves)….. we commit our souls to you and TRUST you to perfect us (inspite of ourselves)…. THANK YOU for bringing us to “today”….. we Praise you now through Jesus Christ, OUR Lord… Amen.

sinner

Many people believe they are only a sinner if they commit sins but this is actually incorrect….  Romans 3:23 “For ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God”

the truth is everybody (without exception) is a sinner and because of this they may commit a variety of “sins” at any time… past, present or future.

Even if you could be successful at “improving yourself” and “overcoming your sinning” to the point where you “sin no more”  (which is seemingly impossible “ideal”)…. you would STILL be a sinner, because that is who you are, you were BORN that way… you are a sinner by birth….  Romans 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men… ”  ….. and this idea offends people…. “what you mean my “good” children are all sinners ?”…. EXACTLY.

So what does GOD say about this ?….. Jesus said you must be BORN AGAIN…. (John 3:3)  and Nicodemus did not have the slightest idea what He meant.

But everyone who has been “born again” knows what He means… they manifest the evidence of this in their persons.

they have TWO personalities to deal with…  the OLD MAN (original sinning nature) must daily be “put to death” so that the NEW MAN can grow…   and your life change under the direction of the Holy Spirit….  Romans 6:11 “…. reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ, our Lord”… “reckon” means “count on the fact, RELY upon the fact”….. remember the verse that says “as a man thinketh so is he” (Proverbs 23:7)… believe it and it will eventually be true in your experience.

The big difference between a “born again” believer and a “good” heathen is that the believer has the power of God working in them to overcome sin… they are not trying to do  it on their own (impossible to please God that way)….. and IF they will only yield to Him daily they will realize it in their experience.

Unfortunately, the “good” heathen is damned along with the rest of sinners that he despises…. and the world just cant deal with that…. so they “invent” all kinds of “religions” to make them feel good….  they keep telling themselves that they will be OK in the hereafter because they are better than so-an-so…. or because they do this or that ritual (baptism, confirmation, communion or whatever).

Prayer for today:

Loving Heavenly Father, thank you for saving my soul and giving me your Holy Spirit…. may He have control of my life as He enables me to put Your wishes above my own…. in Jesus name. Amen.

Test of the “born again” believer…. you have a yearning inside you for fellowship with your Father and you actually enjoy reading the Bible… it is doubtful you would continue reading my posts every day if you were not “born again”…. my posts are directed by God for YOUR benefit, to bring you into closer fellowship with Him.
