Consider these views of “modern thinking”….. based on “knowledgeable research” of “experts”
1. NEW IDEA of men… Physical punishment of children “damages” them in some way.
But the BIBLE says, “Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child, but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him” (Proverbs 22:15)
“He that spareth his rod hateth his son; but he that loveth him chasteneth him early” (Proverbs 13:24)
“Withold not correction from the child; for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shall deliver his soul from sheol” (Proverbs 23:13- 14)
the Bible says “TRAIN up a child in the way he should go and, when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6 )
“new ideas” of “how to raise children” simply DO NOT WORK….. just one more victory for satan in the UNDOING of the human race….
2. NEW IDEA of men….. Abolish the death penalty
but the Bible says, “Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by MAN shall his blood be shed:… ” (Genesis 9:6)
“He who killeth any man shall surely be put to death” (Leviticus 24:17)
“…. neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him, But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hands of all the people” (Deuteronomy 13:8 – 9)
3. NEW IDEA of men …… Circumcision of babies interferes with their “rights” and you have no right to perform such on them.
” At that time the LORD said unto Joshua, Make thee sharp knives and circumcise again the children of Israel….. ” (Joshua 5:2)
If GOD commanded circumcision it is certainly NOT “bad” , negative ideas about it therefore, come from somewhere else.
4. NEW IDEA of men….. Animals are sacred and have “rights” and are to be treated as humans.
Throughout the Bible…. Animals are at the disposal of man…. numerous numbers of them were slaughtered both for food and sacrifice…. at the direct command of GOD.
Do not wilfully ill treat an animal….. but do not try to make them “human” either…. what’s wrong with TRUTH of the Bible ?
5. NEW IDEA of men…… DRUGS are important to life.
The Bible says, “….. I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians; for I am the LORD that healeth thee.” (Exodus 15:26)
” who forgiveth ALL thine iniquities, who healeth ALL thy diseases” (Psalm 103:3)
Jesus Christ healed every manner of disease and sickness among the people WITHOUT any “medication” whatsoever.
It seems to me that because most law-abiding citizens wont take “illegal” drugs…. Satan has come up with another master plan…. use the doctors and pharmacies to get the whole world “addicted” to drugs….
There is ZERO “therapeutic” use for Xanax, Ambien, Lorazepam (Ativan)……. these are HIGHLY addictive drugs that CALM, STUPEFY and make humans BLISSFULLY UNCONCERNED about anything….. they have DANGEROUS side-effects….. and UNDOCUMENTED long-term consequences (they did NOT EXIST 100 years ago)….. the human race has been on the planet for at least 6000 years… and they made it WITHOUT the “aid” of doctors, hospitals and pharmacies.
The stupid idea that the human body somehow “needs” medication everytime there is an ache or a pain is another concoction of MAN….. in 2011, children are being “raised” to “take their medication” from a young age…. and, mark my words, future generations will LIVE ON MEDICATION from the craddle to the grave…. and what is the church doing about this ?…… in most cases…. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ….. because everybody is AFRAID of the “medical profession” and the “legislation” relating to doctors, hospitals and “blame”….. in fact, most of the church people are AFRAID, period…. instead of proclaiming the WORD OF GOD BOLDLY…. they go into a PANIC everytime a member gets sick…. and lap up same medication as everybody else…. and they see nothing wrong with this ?….. where is their FAITH….. may I suggest that it is a bit weak because of WORLDLINESS….. may GOD open their eyes as to what is going on with this planet….. may they truly GRASP and UNDERSTAND the MAGNITUDE of what they read out of the BIBLE daily…. far, far too many “church people” use the BIBLE “conveniently”…. either they do not believe it to be a LITERAL record of history…. or even if they believe that, the RELEVANCE of what it says to THEIR life and circumstances is lost on them.
Please, let us NOT conform to “New World Thinking”…… and follow the staus-quo… or just go with the flow….
“loving your neighbor as yourself” does NOT MEAN that you must not “offend” him in any way…. that would be MAN-PLEASING.
JESUS CHRIST turned over all the tables of the money changers…. and chased them out of the temple…. and that was totally in agreement with His doctrine of LOVE and PEACE…
LIKEWISE…. we are NOT advocating CRUELTY to either animals or children…… we just want you to have a BALANCED approach to life…. to understand that it is basically WRONG to even attempt to “medicate” every pain or discomfort….. UTOPIA is NOT on earth…. this world is NOT our “final destination”…. and MAN is acting in 2011, as if…
1. Man is his own GOD
2. This world is “all there is”
…… when even the “unrighteous heathen” of previous generations knew that this was NOT THE CASE.

I am a christian, currently taking xanax for anxiety. I am an Iraqi War veteran (pre-conversion), with a wife who is currently being treated for Ovarian cancer, since 2008. The anxiety I have experienced has been great and at times debilitating and the churches lack of response to those like me is the reason I ‘need’ the medicine. I would love to sit at home and be able to gather my thoughts and think through things, but my wife needs health coverage to continue treatment leaving me in a 50-60 hr a week job and virtually zero time to process the things happening. It would be much more helpful if everyone stopped aiming at getting people like me off of xanax and would put energy into helping what is actually causing the anxiety.

Thank you for writing…. the Word is a TWO-edged sword, meaning it cuts BOTH ways… anytime I preach ANY viewpoint there will always be “the other side to consider”, “cases” that are exceptions…. and good judgement avoids extreme positions, allows for “special cases”…. times when medication is beneficial ?
I know first hand the effects of addictive medicine…. in my 20’s, I was addicted to Mogadon and had to go through my own withdrawl… 10 years later, my wife was completely messed up by the Xanax (you seem to believe is beneficial to you)…. PRAISE GOD she eventually got off it… but it was not without much ANGUISH… she felt HORRIBLE physically…. she was DEPRESSED to the maximum (far worse than she was before she ever started on the Xanax)…. and her MENTAL and EMOTIONAL state was TERRIBLE roller-coaster….. only her firm FAITH in GOD and her resolute DETERMINATION that NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENED TO HER she would NOT take another Xanax pill got her through that time it took (withdrawl period).
Both me and my wife are completely free of medication now and we are enjoying life like never before…. NOTHING can compare to a DRUG FREE life led under the anointing of the Holy Spirit of God.
If you feel the Xanax is beneficial to you…. if you feel you need it to function…. if you feel that you cant get along without it…. then PLEASE DONT STOP because of anything I tell you…. for 2 reasons:
1. First and most importantly, there is nothing to feel guilty about…. you have had a hard life, much sorrow and stress… and your doctor gave you Xanax… you have a clean conscience before God, nothing sinful in the taking of your medication.
2. Secondly, you have to be STRONG and MOTIVATED to kick any addiction… in many cases, the necessary strength and motivation can only come from God…. and since you have not received His direction in this matter… you would be well advised not to quit without it.
But please understand WHY I must continue to PREACH AGAINST most of the “modern wonder” drugs….
1. They are NOT “harmless”…. you trade off one complaint for another, since most of them have side-effects AND even if YOU apparently have NO side-effects that does not mean that the LONG TERM CONSEQUENCES of such use are minimal or non-existent.
2. The Bible tells us that FAITH IN GOD is mandatory (not optional)… isn’t it a little inconsistent with Scripture to exercise such FAITH for things that are easy (or for things that are beyond our control)…. and resort to human means whenever there is the slightest chance of doing so ?
3. It has been revealed to me that the PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY is not “God’s way” but it is “MAN’s way”…. the drug companies are after PROFIT, they are not making drugs “out of the kindness of their heart”…. they are a part of Satan’s World System… a system that is run on GREED, SELFISHNESS, AMBITION, COMPETITION (everything that is OPPOSITE to what Jesus Christ taught)…. THEREFORE they MARKET drugs as soon as they can and let the PUBLIC do the “long term testing” for them…. WHAT…. you think a drug company is going to “test” a product for 50 years before offering it to the public…. hell no ! … in fact, paying BRIBES to relevant “agencies” for a “quick inspection” might be closer to the truth of what happens.
4. Our pre-occupation with COMFORT is the reason we fall victim to the medical LIES of this age…. rather than concentrate on the AWESOMENESS and ALL-SUFFICIENCY of our MAJESTIC GOD, who is well able to take care of our mortal bodies…. at the very slightest symptom of discomfort…. off we run to the doctor for a battery of “tests”…. and we are easy prey for whatever drug they wish to test on us.
I stand by these two BASIC statements:
1. JESUS says, “seek ye FIRST the kingdom of God, and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, and ALL these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33) …. God is well able to improve your physical circumstances OR provide the GRACE to enable you to SURVIVE them (and CONFOUND the doctors in the process).
2. SATAN says, “swallow that pill… it will make you FEEL better… don’t you want to feel GOOD ?” …. Satan wants the whole world on DRUGS because they are easier to control that way
