What God thinks of us:
Clearly we have some ‘power’ on our own , collectively, apart from Him, but it does us NO GOOD.
If God had not created multiple languages, humans would have already destroyed themselves.
Genesis 11:6 … God tells us “ this they begin to do; and now NOTHING will be withheld from them, which they have imagined to do”
Psalms 8:6 tells us that MAN is in charge of the earth… the earth has been given to humans to rule…. Satan would be POWERLESS to do anything on earth IF it were not for the fact that HE CAN GET PEOPLE TO DO WHAT HE WANTS so easily…. Satan runs the world by USING PEOPLE… he plants thoughts in their heads and they do what he wants, naturally, in most cases without even realizing it … so therefore man has given his rulership of the earth to Satan… it started in Eden, where man decided to listen to Satan’s advice rather than God’s.
Humans are truly worthless… and that’s the truth !
2 Timothy 3:3 “without self-control” we are all pawns of the demons.
Psalm 62:9 “surely men of low degree are a vapor, men of high degree are a lie”
But there are other verses that tell us that although we are worthless YET if we have the right attitude to God and put our confidence IN HIM (instead of in ourselves), He WILL help us to achieve something with our lives.
Isaiah 66:2 “…Says the LORD, “But on this one will I look: On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at My word.”
Jeremiah 17:7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is in the LORD”
Self-Esteem is closely linked to PRIDE.. we are to esteem OTHERS as better than ourselves… “…let each esteem OTHERS better than himself.” (Philippians 2:3)
All flesh is grass…. and the glory of man like the flower of grass… the grass withers and the flower falls away (1 Peter 1:24)(Isaiah 40:6-8)
You still think SELF-confidence is a good thing ??
Clearly the Bible says that the only “good thing” is to put your confidence IN GOD… TRUST IN THE LORD is what the Bible says humans should do.
